Aleksandr Golovin’s mother, Svetlana, has revealed that her son is in talks with Chelsea over a potential transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are hoping to secure the midfielder for around £27million, but his involvement with the Russian national team at the World Cup seems to be delaying the move.
When asked about her son moving to Chelsea, as reported by the Metro, she said:
Yes, now there are talks between the clubs, but we still do not know the details. Sacha right now stands only for the Russian team, fully focused on the World Cup. The transition from one club to another will only be discussed after it is completed here.
The 22-year-old has been one of Russia’s star men as they’ve progressed to the quarter-final of the World Cup and Chelsea will be hoping that the increased focus on him will not lead to any other clubs coming in for him.
The midfielder is contracted to CSKA Moscow until 2021 but he is expected to move this summer and it looks like Stamford Bridge will be his destination.
