Chelsea and Tottenham are both interested in signing Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele as per a report from France Football, via Sport Witness.
The report claims that Tottenham are the likeliest club to sign the 21-year-old at this stage but Chelsea are keeping tabs on him in case they decide to let one of their current midfielders leave.
Ndombele was originally at Lyon on loan, but they have paid the pre-agreed €8million fee to take him permanently but they could sell him on immediately for a large sum, thus making themselves a tidy profit.
However, with the future of Nabil Fekir still up in the air, Lyon will not be in any rush to sell Ndombele and if Fekir leaves, it’s difficult to see them allowing the French U21 international to leave.
Chelsea’s summer plans seem to be up in the air at this point but it is no surprise to see them being linked to one of Europe’s most promising young midfielders.
