Chelsea want buy-back clause inserted into Kenedy deal

Chelsea are ready to sell Kenedy to Newcastle this summer, but only if the Magpies agree to insert a buy-back clause into the deal.

The Telegraph reports that the Brazilian is keen to complete a permanent move to St James’ Park after a successful loan spell at the club.

The two clubs have been in talks over a £20 million deal, but Chelsea want to protect themselves.

The Blues have been well known to add in buy-back clauses into a number of sales recently following the departures of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku.

After the success that the Belgian duo have enjoyed away from Chelsea, the Blues are keen to ensure the same thing does not happen in the future.

Both Nathan Ake and Nathaniel Chalobah reportedly have buy-back clauses in their respective deals that saw them move away from Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis.

Whilst Chelsea may not see a future at Stamford Bridge for Kenedy, they want to protect themselves from any further embarrassment in the transfer market.
