Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic is the latest midfielder to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
According to a report from Sky Italia, as cited on Calcio Mercato, the Blues have considered the Croatian as they prepare to appoint Maurizio Sarri.
The Blues’ transfer business has been delayed as a result of the managerial limbo at Stamford Bridge, but they’re now looking to press ahead with their dealings.

Kovacic has already expressed his desire to leave Madrid this summer in a bid to find regular game time.
Since his move from Inter, Kovacic has been unable to hold down a place in the Real Madrid side and started just 10 times in La Liga last season.
Kovacic was once touted as one of the best young European midfielders, something that saw him earn a move to Madrid, but at the age of 24, he knows he needs to be playing regularly.
