Pasalic loan move to Fiorentina to include option to buy

Mario Pasalic is closing in on a loan move to Fiorentina that will see the Italian side have the option to buy him permanently.

According to La Repubblica, as cited on Calcio Mercato, the player is expected in Florence on Friday.

Fiorentina are keen to bring the player in to provide competition for Marco Benassi and Jordan Veretout.

A lot was expected of Pasalic when he first joined Chelsea, but he has since become another of the club’s serial loan players.

He has spent time on loan at Milan, where he impressed and spent last season on loan in Russia with Spartak Moscow.

The move will all but spell an end to his time at Stamford Bridge, where he failed to make a single appearance for the first-team squad.

Pasalic joined back in 2014 from Hadjuk Split in a £3 million deal.

It remains unclear how much Fiorentina will pay Chelsea for the midfielder at the end of his loan spell in Italy.
