Carlo Ancelotti wants to sign David Luiz from Chelsea this summer as he looks to bolster Napoli’s defensive options, according to a report from the Mirror.
The Italian giants want to strengthen their back-line ahead of next season and with Ancelotti known to be an admirer of Luiz, it seems he is willing to make efforts to lure him away from Stamford Bridge.
Luiz struggled with injuries throughout last season and subsequently fell out of favour under Antonio Conte. With Maurizio Sarri set to come in, though, his future in West London remains unclear.

Ancelotti worked alongside Luiz during his stint in charge of Chelsea and it’s believed by the Mirror that the Italian tactician will offer the 31-year-old an escape route away from the Premier League.
Chelsea appear to be closing in on the signing of Daniele Rugani from Juventus, which could lead them to the sale of Luiz as he looks set to see his second spell with the club brought to an end.
