Kante suffered with a stomach bug during World Cup final

It has been revealed that N’Golo Kante was suffering with a stomach bug during the World Cup final.

Le Parisien, as cited on Get French Football News, confirm that the Chelsea midfielder was not fully fit against Croatia.

Although France did come out on top, Kante, who has been one of the standout performers during the World Cup, was far from his best on the night.

He was substituted for Steven N’Zonzi early in the second half after a poor showing in the final.

The uncharacteristic performance sparked a lot of confusion among fans, who now know about his stomach bug.

Goals from Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe all followed an own goal from Mario Mandzukic as France lifted the trophy for the second time in their history.

Kante and Chelsea team-mate Olivier Giroud are now expected to enjoy a short holiday before returning to club action with the Blues.
