Sarri to make decision over Loftus-Cheek’s future
Chelsea are delaying any deal with Crystal Palace for Ruben Loftus-Cheek, with Maurizio Sarri due to make a decision on the player’s future.
As per a report from the London Evening Standard, Roy Hodgson and Palace are keen to bring the player back to Selhurst Park this season.
However, the Eagles have been urged to wait, with the new Chelsea boss hoping to run the rule over his squad before sanctioning any moves.
Chelsea are being urged to utilise Loftus-Cheek in the first-team squad next season after he impressed at the World Cup in Russia.
Sarri is expected to play a 4-3-3 system at Chelsea, which could open up a spot for him in the midfield alongside Jorginho and N’Golo Kante.
Loftus-Cheek spent last season on loan at Palace but struggled with injuries, which prevented a lack of regular game time.
The player is due to return to Chelsea for pre-season training following a short post-World Cup holiday.
