Chelsea are reportedly preparing a €45 million offer for Flamengo’s Lucas Paqueta, amid interest from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Milan and Juventus.
According to reports by Os Donos da Bola, Chelsea are looking to step up their interest in the Brazilian, with several teams keeping tabs on the player.
The player is said to have a €50 million release clause in his contract, but the Brazilian club are looking to increase that as they bid to keep the player at the club.
The 20-year-old is a Brazilian youth international and can play as a number 10 or out on the left.
Claims of a move for Paqueta will come as a surprise, with Chelsea also thought to be pursuing a deal for Aleksandr Golovin and Jorginho arriving at the club from Napoli.
It is yet to be seen how concrete Chelsea’s interest is and whether at the reported €45 million, he would be an acquisition for the first-team squad or someone who is sent out on loan.
