Chelsea linked with a move for Pepe Reina
Chelsea have been linked with a surprise move for AC Milan goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
The Blues are on the lookout for a new shot-stopper, with Thibaut Courtois set to join Real Madrid this summer, and Italian news outlet Premium Sport believe Maurizio Sarri is keen to land Reina.
It’s reported that the new Chelsea boss has singled out the 35-year-old goalkeeper as a primary target in this position, with the Blues looking to speed up their summer dealings.
Reina secured a move to Milan from Napoli only this summer following the expiration of his contract at the Stadio San Paolo.
However, with changes at board level currently ongoing at Milan, it’s believed that key players could be sold to raise funds, with Reina now linked with a shock early exit.
Chelsea have been reportedly lining up a whole host of goalkeepers this summer but Premium Sport appear to be certain that Sarri is intent on reuniting with Reina at Stamford Bridge.
