Chelsea include buy-back clause in Boga deal
Chelsea have reportedly included a buy-back clause in Sassuolo’s deal to sign Jeremie Boga.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Championship club Birmingham City and it seems following his return, he has been deemed as surplus to Chelsea’s requirements.
Boga is close to joining Sassuolo in a permanent deal, according to reports, but according to claims from French news outlet Foot Mercato, Chelsea do appear to still regard the Ivorian as a young player with potential.
It’s claimed that despite offloading Boga on a permanent basis, a buy-back clause has been included in Sassuolo’s purchase of the player.
Boga has been sent out on loan three times during his stint at Chelsea, impressing when called upon at Ligue 1 side Rennes, along with Granada and Birmingham most recently.
Chelsea will evidently be closely monitoring Boga’s progress at Sassuolo, with the promising midfielder now looking ahead to the next chapter of his professional career in Italy.
