Hazard nominated for The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2018 award

Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has been nominated for The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2018 award.

FIFA have confirmed that the Belgian features among the nominees for the award.

Hazard will be up against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as he bids to lift the award.

Kevin De Bruyne, Antoine Griezmann, Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, Luka Modric, Mohamed Salah and Raphael Varane have also been nominated for the award.

Hazard is one of three Premier League players nominated, alongside Liverpool’s Salah and Manchester City’s De Bruyne.

Despite Chelsea’s struggles in the Premier League last season, Hazard impressed domestically and went on to shine for Belgium at the World Cup in Russia and was among the contenders to be named as the Player of the Tournament.

Under Roberto Martinez, Hazard played a key role in helping Belgium finish third in the tournament, the highest finish in the country’s history.
