Daniele Rugani’s agent has confirmed interest from Chelsea as the Blues look to seal a deal to sign the player from Juventus.
The once proclaimed protege of Juventus is a target for Chelsea, who are preparing a bid worth over £45 million, despite a previous offer being rejected by Seria A titleholders.
Rugani played his best football under the management of Sarri during his loan spell at Empoli and rekindling that at Stamford Bridge next season would help the former Napoli boss settle to life in England quickly.
He has already signed Jorginho from Napoli, a player with a deep understanding of Sarri’s system and style of play.
Questioned about the ongoing quest to bring Rugani over to West London, Rugani’s representative Davide Torchia told Radio Sportiva, as reported by Calciomercato, that the young centre-half is happy and content with his position at Juventus.
The interest from Chelsea is there for Rugani. Beyond the figures, though there’s a technical question, neither the player nor Juventus have ever said they want a sale. The operation with Chelsea is seperate from Higuian, each deal has a different cost and different dynamics. The two players can bring in different profits. Rugani is calm and happy, he’s at the pre-season training camp and he’s thinking about Juventus.
Chelsea have sent Marina Granovskaia out to Italy for transfer talks with both Juventus and AC Milan as they look to close in on several targets.
Both Gonzalo Higuain and Pepe Reina have both been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge.
