Chelsea’s move for AC Milan goalkeeper Pepe Reina could see them offload Tiemoue Bakayoko to the Italian giants in a part-exchange deal.
The Blues are understood to be pursuing a deal for experienced Spain international Reina, who could be on the move despite only arriving at San Siro this summer on a free transfer from Napoli.
Reina worked under Maurizio Sarri during his time in charge at the Stadio San Paolo, and it’s been reported that the Italian would like to reunite with the 35-year-old in London.
Bakayoko, meanwhile, has been linked with a move to Milan in recent days. The Serie A giants are keen to sign a new midfielder and have reportedly identified the Frenchman as a potential option.

Any deal that sees Bakayoko leave Stamford Bridge would likely be on an initial loan deal, but Tuttosport (h/t Calciomercato) indicate that the possibility of a part-exchange deal including Reina and the ex-Monaco star is genuine.
Chelsea are set to be in need of a new starting goalkeeper this summer, with Thibaut Courtois closing in on a move to Real Madrid.
Bakayoko, on the other hand, could find regular football hard to come by under Sarri. He struggled to break into Antonio Conte’s starting line-up last term and following the arrival of Jorginho from Napoli, opportunities could be hard to come by.
