Chelsea open talks with Inter over Vecino deal

Chelsea are believed to have opened talks with Inter over a deal to sign midfielder Matias Vecino over the weekend.

The London Evening Standard reports that official talks were believed to have started over the weekend when both clubs were in Nice for a pre-season friendly.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw, but plenty of working was going on behind the scenes.

Vecino, who is valued at close to £31 million, has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge throughout the summer.

He is a player that Maurizio Sarri knows very well having worked together at Empoli.

The report claims that Sarri wants to bring in the Inter star to help influence his style of play on the rest of the first-team squad at a faster rate.

Jorginho has already been signed from Napoli and the Italian international is due to play a key role in Sarri’s side.
