Courtois is ‘definitely’ set to leave Chelsea this summer

Graeme Jones, who worked alongside Thibaut Courtois as Belgium’s assistant coach during this summer’s World Cup, feels the goalkeeper will “definitely” leave Chelsea ahead of next season.

Jones, who recently made the decision to join Darren Moore’s coaching staff at West Brom, spoke exclusively to talkSPORT and discussed Courtois’ future at Stamford Bridge.

I think definitely in Thibaut’s case. I think he has got under a year left on his contract now and I can only see him moving. He’s obviously won the Golden Glove at the World Cup, and he had a fantastic tournament. I think he’ll move on.

The goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer. Real Madrid are understood to be keen on landing him, with Los Blancos out to secure a high-quality replacement for Keylor Navas.

Nevertheless, Chelsea still hold all the cards with Real yet to make a concrete move, as Courtois enters the final year of his contract at the club.

The Blues have been linked with a host of goalkeeping options and are thought to be only willing to offload Courtois if they have a replacement ready to step in immediately.
