Juventus deem Rugani ‘unsellable’ after Caldara exit

Juventus are refusing to sell Chelsea target Daniele Rugani at any cost this summer following the exit of Mattia Caldara.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited on Calciomercato, Rugani is considered ‘unsellable’ by the Italian giants.

Chelsea had been heavily linked with a move for the Italian defender and had agreed personal terms over a five-year deal to move to Stamford Bridge.

Rugani, who fell out of favour in Turin, was expected to join the club following the arrival of Maurizio Sarri, a coach he had worked with previously at Empoli.

However, the deal became complicated by the eye-catching moves that saw Leonardo Bonucci return to the club and Mattia Caldara join Milan.

Caldara was expected to return to Juventus this summer and provide back-up to the three experienced defenders after a promising loan spell with Atalanta, but he was included in the Bonucci deal.

Despite the arrival of Bonucci, Juventus do not want to lose two young defenders in the same window.
