Maurizio Sarri admits that Thibaut Courtois could leave Chelsea this week

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has admitted that Thibaut Courtois could leave Chelsea this week if he personally requests a transfer.

Christophe Henrotay, the Belgian’s representative, has made it clear that his client would like to secure a transfer to Real Madrid but Sarri says that he has no interest in listening to the agent.

However, the new Chelsea boss admitted that if Courtois speaks to him directly and asks for a move, he will allow the goalkeeper to leave as he only wants fully committed players in his side.

As reported by the Guardian, he said:

I’m not interested in the agent. I want to hear Courtois. If Courtois tomorrow says to me the same [as his agent], then I have to speak with my player, of course. Because I only want players with very high levels of motivation.

Courtois is keen to move to Madrid to be closer to his family, who stayed in the Spanish capital when the Belgian returned to Stamford Bridge following his loan spell at Atletico.

It seems that if Chelsea can find a suitable replacement, and if Courtois tells his manager that he wants to move, then the Blues will grant his wish.
