Chelsea consider last-minute bid to hijack Bernard’s Everton move

Chelsea have reportedly made a last-minute offer to try and hijack the deal that will see Bernard join Everton.

According to Sky Sports, the former Shakhtar Donetsk star is on his way to Goodison Park for a medical, which is expected to happen today, but Chelsea have not given up in their pursuit.

In a similar fashion to the deal that saw Willian turn down a move to Tottenham and join Chelsea, the Blues are refusing to accept no for an answer.

Bernard has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk.

West Ham and Chelsea were touted as potential destinations, while AC Milan also held talks over a potential deal.

Everton appear to have won the race to sign Bernard, but Chelsea look like they want to bring in one more attacking midfielder before Thursday’s deadline, with Nabil Fekir the latest to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
