Nabil Fekir will not feature for Lyon against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this evening as talk of a move to London rumbles on.
According to the Daily Mail, the player had been expected to feature against the Blues in what is Maurizio Sarri’s final pre-season match, but that no longer appears to be the case.
Reports in France on Monday suggested that Chelsea would make a late move to sign the player that has been heavily linked with Liverpool throughout the summer.
Fekir was all set to join Liverpool this summer but a move fell through at the final minute when the Reds raised concerns about the player’s medical history.
However, there are also some suggestions that he could put pen to paper on a new deal in France to end a summer of speculation.
Sarri is clearly on the hunt for a new midfielder to add to his squad, with the Blues reportedly set to sign Matteo Kovacic on loan.
