Chelsea are ready to let midfielder Danny Drinkwater leave on loan before Thursday’s 5pm transfer deadline.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea are set to send Drinkwater out on a temporary basis as they prepare to bring Mateo Kovacic in from Real Madrid.
Kovacic is closing in on a loan move to Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid, as part of a deal to take Thibaut Courtois back to Spain.
The report claims that West Ham and Everton are the two clubs vying for his signature, with Drinkwater set to move to one of the Premier League sides.

Drinkwater joined the club from Leicester last summer for a fee in the region of £35m.
He made five Premier League starts last season and struggled to make his way into the team under Antonio Conte.
Sarri has become Chelsea’s new head coach and has not seen enough from him in pre-season to earn him a chance to shine in a Chelsea shirt.
