Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has confirmed that he has spoken to Lyon Captain Nabil Fekir about a potential move to Stamford Bridge, Get French Football News reports.
Get French Football News report that Foot Mercato spoke to Olivier Giroud after yesterday’s friendly match between Chelsea and Lyon and asked him about his relationship with Fekir.
Giroud and Fekir know each other well from playing together at international level for France.
It was widely reported that Liverpool had been trying to sign Fekir all summer, with a move for the forward now looking to have all but fallen through.
Giroud stated that he had spoken to the fellow French international about both Liverpool and Chelsea.
I spoke to him when we were together in the French national team, when his move to Liverpool fell through. Then we discussed Chelsea, and I even think that Eden said a couple of words to him.
We would obviously welcome him, he is a super player, but I don’t know if this is something that could happen as the window closes on Thursday.
