Jay Dasilva on verge of completing Bristol City loan

Promising young Chelsea defender Jay Dasilva is said to be on the verge of joining Championship side Bristol City on loan.

Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph claims that a deal between both sides has been agreed, with the defender set to replace the departing Joe Bryan.

City are in the market for a new left-sided defender, with Bryan attracting interest from Premier League new boys Fulham as well as Aston Villa and Middlesbrough.

Dasilva spent last season on loan at Charlton and impressed in League One. He will now get the chance to step up and make an impact in the Championship.

Bristol City will be hoping for similar success with Dasilva after Tammy Abraham’s fruitful loan spell at the club.

Dasilva is highly-rated at Chelsea, with many expecting big things from the youngster.

Several Championship sides had been linked with a move for the defender, including Frank Lampard’s Derby County, who instead opted to sign Fikayo Tomori.
