Zouma’s loan move to Everton agreed

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma is set to spend a season on loan at Everton, with the Toffees reaching an agreement for the Frenchman.

As per French reports from L’Equipe, as cited on Get French Football News, the defender is set to join the Goodison Park outfit.

The defender has been heavily linked with a move to Everton but faced late competition from Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho, who has spent the day searching for a new central defender, had reportedly spoken to the Chelsea defender in an attempt to convince him into a move to Old Trafford.

However, Chelsea did not want to sell the player to a direct rival and Everton appear to have won the race to sign the player.

Zouma spent last season on loan at Stoke City after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge and he was unable to do enough to help the Potters avoid relegation.

Everton have been looking to strengthen defensively, with Yerry Mina also set to join the club from Barcelona.
