Chelsea to pay some of Bakayoko’s wages to make Milan move happen
Chelsea look set to pay a chunk of Tiemoue Bakayoko’s salary in order for him to join AC Milan.
Reports in Italy from Corriere dello Sport, as cited on Calciomercato, claim that Milan will only pay around €2.5 million of his €6.5 million salary.
Milan will reportedly pay a fee of €5 million to loan the player and hold a €35 million option to buy as part of the deal.
The player has been in Italy to complete the final stages of his move to the San Siro, with an official announcement expected soon.
Bakayoko was not expected to be part of Maurizio Sarri’s plans going forward this season.
With Ruben Loftus-Cheek returning from his loan spell with Crystal Palace and Matteo Kovacic joining on loan from Real Madrid, Bakayoko was expected to fall further down the pecking order.
After joining for big-money from AS Monaco last summer, he has failed to impress during his time in London.
