Alvaro Morata desperate to make Stamford Bridge a fortress once again

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata is desperate to make Stamford Bridge a fortress once again under new boss Maurizio Sarri, the Daily Mail report.

The Spaniard found the back of the net on Saturday against north London rivals Arsenal in the 3-2 win, opening his personal account for the season in the process.

The first half strike by Morata was Chelsea’s second of the game and just the forward’s second goal in 16 league appearances since Boxing Day.

Under Antonio Conte last season, the Blues dropped points at home eight times in 19 Premier League fixtures, including a shock 0-3 defeat to Bournemouth at the end of January.

Talking to Chelsea TV after the win, Morata was fully focused on making Stamford Bridge a hard place to come and ‘get something’ for future opposition teams.

Other teams need to fight a lot to get something here.

This is the message we need to send to other teams. Here is our home and it’s difficult to get something here.

We are very happy because we deserved the victory. We need to improve little things, but we played good with the ball. A very important three points for us.

The Blues are next in action at Stamford Bridge at the beginning of September, where they face Bournemouth.
