Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata says he never considered a move away from the club this summer.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Morata opened up about a summer of speculation, with the striker heavily linked with a move back to Italy.
There was never a thought for me to leave. For me, it’s easy. I could have gone back to Spain or Italy, all the people believe in me there but I want to change all the things here. I want to, not for all the haters, but for me and for Chelsea.
AC Milan were believed to be the frontrunners to sign Morata when it appeared that he could be offloaded by the Blues this summer.
The San Siro outfit then turned their attention to Gonzalo Higuain when it became clear that Leonardo Bonucci wanted to return to Juventus.
The latter were also linked with a move for Morata, but that became increasingly unlikely once Cristiano Ronaldo joined the club from Real Madrid.
Morata has struggled for confidence at Chelsea in recent months, but he did manage to open his account for the season by scoring his first goal against Arsenal on Saturday.
The Spaniard did brilliantly to find space in behind and cooly slotted the ball past Petr Cech to help Chelsea on their way to a 3-2 victory.
