Paris Saint-Germain had hoped to sign Marcos Alonso this summer and even held preliminary talks over a deal.
According to Marca, Alonso was earmarked as Paris Saint-Germain’s top target as they went in search of a new left-back.
The report claims that a ‘couple of meetings’ were held to discuss the Spaniard, but Chelsea refused to do business.
Alonso could now be offered a new deal to extend his stay in London and ward off any interest from the French side.

The Ligue 1 champions have now decided to turn their attention to former Chelsea defender Filipe Luis.
Luis has impressed at Atletico Madrid, but the Parisians face another battle to convince Diego Simeone’s men to sell this summer.
Alonso has started the new season well under Maurizio Sarri, scoring the winning goal against Arsenal in the London Derby on Saturday night, gifting Chelsea their second win of the season.
