Midfielder Mateo Kovacic has dropped a major hint suggesting that he wants to make his loan move from Real Madrid to Chelsea a permanent deal next summer.
The Croation arrived at Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan from the reigning European champions as part of the deal that took Thibaut Courtois the other way and he’s already hinting at a permanent stay in London.

Speaking to sports channel Sport Klub, Kovacic said:
It was important that after three years of inconsistency in playing time in Madrid I’ve got into a team that wants me and a coach who wants and trusts me.That’s how Chelsea happened. That’s what I really need now and I want to keep it that way. He’s known me for a long time and that’s what matters in my opinion.
Kovacic was a bit-part player in Madrid during his time there and he’s keen to feature more for Chelsea this season and if he does, as is expected, then he’ll look to make a permanent switch next summer.
