Chelsea could be set for Conte cash windfall

Antonio Conte has emerged as a managerial target for Italian side AS Roma, a deal which could see Chelsea pocket millions.

CalcioNews24 claim that Roma have Conte shortlisted as their dream appointment should Eusebio Di Francesco leave the club.

Pressure is believed to be mounting on the current Roma boss and the report claims that plans are being put in place should a decision need to be made on his future.

While Conte is not in charge of Chelsea, he is still under contract. The Blues are still paying the Italian the final year of his deal after he refused to walk away from the £9 million-a-year deal.

Should Roma wish to make an appointment, they would have to negotiate a price with Chelsea to buy Conte out of his contract.

It is believed that the Italian would be interested in returning to work soon after leaving Stamford Bridge over the summer.
