Chelsea target Milinkovic-Savic saw Juventus move fall through

Chelsea and Manchester United target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic reportedly saw a move to Juventus fall through during the summer transfer window.

Calciomercato exclusively reports that the Old Lady had a deal in place to sign the Serbian midfielder, despite the player being heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

A fee for the player was believed to have been agreed way back in June, but Lazio would go on to raise their asking price.

Further doubts were raised about a potential move when the Serie A winners landed Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

Milinkovic-Savic will now remain a Lazio player for another season at least, but Juventus are expected to reconsider a move for the midfielder next summer when interest in his services are likely to be even greater.

Chelsea were named as one of the favourites to sign the promising midfielder, who was valued at close to £100 million by the Italian outfit.

The Blues opted to sign Mateo Kovacic on loan from Real Madrid instead as part of the deal for the Spaniards to sign Thibaut Courtois.
