Chelsea target Chiesa would reportedly prefer Milan switch

Long-term Chelsea target Federico Chiesa would prefer to join AC Milan if he leaves Fiorentina in the near future, according to reports.

The tricky wide man has been linked with the Blues for some time now and Maurizio Sarri’s side’s interest was once again reiterated by reports earlier on this week.

However, Chelsea are not the only team in the race to sign Chiesa, with a whole host of top clubs across Europe believed to be battling for his signature.

Chiesa enjoyed a superb season in Serie A last term and has continued in a similar vein of form this time around. The 20-year-old has established himself as a talismanic figure for the Viola and has shone in the early stages of the new campaign.

The youngster’s performances appear to have piqued the interest of several clubs once again, with Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli having all been recently touted as potential destinations.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited by Football Italia, Chiesa’s preferred destination would be a move to AC Milan, if he does indeed leave Fiorentina.

Chiesa was a wanted man in the summer but pledged his allegiance to the cause at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. However, should a move to Milan emerge as a genuine possibility, it seems the winger would be tempted to join Gennaro Gattuso’s side.
