Summer target Fekir focuses on Lyon after failed Premier League move

Former Chelsea and Liverpool target Nabil Fekir has revealed he is focusing on his future at Lyon after seeing moves to the Premier League fail to materialise over the summer.

Fekir’s future was one of the stories of the summer transfer window, with the creative midfielder heavily linked with moves to Stamford Bridge and Anfield.

Speaking about his immediate future, as reported by the Express, Fekir was quizzed about the links to Liverpool.

What happened with Liverpool is straight out of my head, I turned the page. We must not stop at this, we must move forward. There are things that must be accepted. My future? We have not discussed an extension yet, we will see what happens.

Both Chelsea and Liverpool were heavily linked with a move to sign Fekir this summer, with the Reds all-but agreeing a move to sign the player, before a move fell through at the last minute.

The player was filmed doing an interview as a Liverpool player before his unveiling, but a move collapsed with concerns over the player’s medical history.

Chelsea tried to swoop in for the player late in the summer window but instead opted to sign Mateo Kovacic on loan from Real Madrid.
