Relief as Musonda’s injury not as serious as first anticipated

Vitesse will be grateful for the news that Charly Musonda’s injury is not as bad as first anticipated.

There were concerns this morning that the player has sustained a long-term injury and could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

However, Goal now reports that the player is expected to miss around a month of football following a shin injury.

The injury occurred a friendly for Vitesse against Royal Antwerp and the player returned to Chelsea to discover the severity.

The news will come as a delight for Musonda, who will be hoping to make an impact at Vitesse as he prepares to get his career back on track.

With his long-term future at Chelsea very much in doubt, he knows he has to go go to Vitesse and deliver after a poor spell at Celtic.

Musonda was heavily linked with a permanent move away from the club this summer but has instead left on loan.

matchday.
