Kante confirms PSG approach

N’Golo Kante has revealed Paris Saint-Germain made contact with him over the summer.

The midfielder – who was an indispensable part of France’s World Cup winning team – has insisted he is happy at Chelsea, but revealed in an interview with RMC Sport that the French champions had been in touch with him.

Kante said:

There was no urge to go elsewhere after the World Cup,

There were other clubs interests but after talking to Chelsea, things were clear. The club is counting on me and I feel good. The next logical step was to continue to Chelsea.

There were some contacts [from PSG]. But after a discussion with Chelsea I realised that the main thing was to feel good where I was. I am at Chelsea. It’s good for me to stay at Chelsea.

With his heart in the British capital, the Blues will supposedly seek to tie the box-to-box specialist to Stamford Bridge with a new five-year contract, according to a report from Goal.

Star goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has already flown the nest this summer, and Chelsea’s team would have been infinitely poorer had Kante followed suit.
