Alonso: Pedro has been impressive in training
Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso recently spoke to the club’s official website as he lifted the lid on some of his teammates at Stamford Bridge.
The Spain international was quizzed on a number of different subjects, related to topics both on and off the pitch, and was asked which Chelsea player had been standing out the most in recent training sessions under new boss Maurizio Sarri.
Alonso appeared to show little hesitation in his response and proceeded to lavish praise on the recent form and desire that his compatriot Pedro has been showing.
I’d say Pedro, he’s been on fire since pre-season. He was scoring in pre-season and he’s started really well so I hope he continues to score goals and helps us reach our target, which is to win everything.
The experienced winger has enjoyed a strong start to the season and has established himself as an important cog in Sarri’s plans, with Chelsea continuing to take the Premier League by storm.
Alonso, too, has been in impressive form in the early periods of the new campaign. Sarri’s decision to revert to a four-back formation does not appear to have deterred the Spaniard, who is flourishing in a natural left-back role once again.
Chelsea fans will be hoping that the team’s Spanish contingent can continue to shine, with the Blues sitting pretty at the top of the table.
