Hazard to sit out PAOK game on Thursday
Eden Hazard will play no part in Chelsea’s Europa League opener against PAOK in Greece.
The Telegraph report that Belgian will be rested and has not travelled with the first-team squad.
Maurizio Sarri is set to make use of the squad depth he has available to him in Europe and has identified the game as the perfect chance to rest Hazard.
The winger was eased back into action at the start of the season following a busy summer at the World Cup with his national side.
Sarri is now keen to avoid burning out the player so early in the season after some impressive induvidual performances.
Hazard has been one of the standout players in the league in the first handful of Premier League games, scoring five times in as many games.
The Belgian has also registered two assists, helping the Blues top the Premier League table.
