Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has revealed that the club’s doubleheader against Liverpool this week will show just how good the Blues are under Maurizio Sarri.
The two clubs meet on Wednesday night at Anfield in the Carabao Cup before another match on Saturday night at Stamford Bridge when the Premier League returns.
Chelsea and Liverpool approached this weekend’s game as the only two teams with 100 per cent records in the league, but the Blues saw theirs dashed away from them after a 0-0 draw away at West Ham.
Speaking to the London Evening Standard, Giroud believes that the club can use the games a test to if they really do have title credentials this season.
They will provide a real test of how good we are. We need to show team character after the West Ham game, so there is nothing better than to play the team at the top of the League. It will be a good test.
