Chelsea send scouts to watch Nico Barella’s Cagliari

Chelsea reportedly had scouts present to see the likes of Nicolo Barella in action during Cagliari’s recent game against Sampdoria

Calciomercato report that scouts from the Blues, West Ham and Everton were in Italy to watch the game, with attention beginning to turn to the January transfer window.

Barella has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks, despite Liverpool emerging as the favourites to sign the Cagliari star.

The young midfielder is valued at around €40 million by the Italian club and he is certainly one of the more in-demand players in Serie A at the moment.

Liverpool are among the favourites to sign the player should he leave Italy, but both Milan clubs have also been interested in the past.

The report does not confirm that it was Barella that the clubs were keeping an eye on, but there is a very high possibility that he could have been in their sights as interest in the player begins to mount.
