Chelsea won’t allow Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori to play against them

Chelsea will not allow Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori to play against them when they face Derby County in the Carabao Cup fourth round later this month.

According to a report from ESPN FC, EFL rules do allow loan players to face their parent clubs if the parent club gives permission, but Chelsea have no intention of letting the duo face them.

Both Mount and Tomori have been highly impressive for County this season under the mentorship of Chelsea legend Frank Lampard and the Rams would have liked to have them available, but they will not be allowed to play them against the Blues.

ESPN report that every player who Chelsea send out on a domestic loan have it written in their contracts that they cannot play against their parent club if drawn against them in a cup competition and as such, Mount and Tomori will not be allowed to feature.
