Drinkwater not looking to force Chelsea departure

Danny Drinkwater does not appear to play a part in Maurizio Sarri’s plans at Chelsea. However, he is in no urgent rush to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge, according to the Telegraph.

The England international was put up for sale by the Blues during the summer transfer window as the club looked to trim the squad of its fringe players.

However, no proposal presented itself to Drinkwater, meaning that he was forced to stay put at Chelsea, enabling him the chance to fight for a place in Sarri’s plans.

Despite this, Drinkwater has been unable to truly influence Sarri’s thinking since his appointment as the club’s manager, with the midfielder yet to make it into the 18-man squad for matchdays.

Although Drinkwater is not currently being given the chance to shine for the Blues, the Telegraph claim that he has not yet established a desire to move on, with the player prepared to hold out until the summer for a transfer.

It’s reported that Drinkwater currently earns a wage of £100,000 per week with the Blues.
