Chelsea eye Donny van de Beek as Fabregas replacement

Chelsea reportedly want to sign Ajax youngster Donny van de Beek as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas.

According to reports in the Dutch media, as cited on Calciomercato, the player is emerging as a target for the Blues.

Fabregas is facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge after falling out of favour under Maurizio Sarri.

The summer arrivals of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic have seen the Spaniard naturally fall down the pecking order.

With his contract at the club coming to an end, Fabregas is expected to move on in the near future.

Van de Beek is a central midfielder who can play both in a defensive role as well as a more attacking one.

The Dutch international came through the ranks at the club and has been ever-present in their side this season, featuring in all seven Eredivisie games.

At the age of just 21, van de Beek has established himself as a regular and is very highly rated at Ajax.
