Cahill holds talks over Manchester United move

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has reportedly held talks over a potential move to Manchester United.

According to Tuttosport, as cited on Sport Witness, Cahill is believed to be in talks with potential suitors as he prepares for life away from Stamford Bridge.

Besiktas are also said to be in the running to sign the player, who has fallen out of favour under Maurizio Sarri.

Cahill has admitted that he will consider leaving the club in January in order to find regular first-team football.

Manchester United have been linked with a move to sign Cahill, with Jose Mourinho keen to strengthen defensively in the new year.

Mourinho has been short of options at the back this season and he recently decided to play midfielder Scott McTominay in defence against West Ham, a decision which backfired on the United boss.

Cahill has been a regular at Chelsea after arriving from Bolton back in 2012, but his days at Stamford Bridge appear to be numbered.
