Chelsea star Eden Hazard has been discussing the team’s ambitions for the season.
Speaking to SPORTbible, the Belgian international outlined how the Blues intend to do all that they can to ensure that they remain in contention for the Champions League qualification places.
Chelsea have enjoyed an impressive start to the new Premier League season, winning five matches and drawing on two occasions. The Blues are two points off league-leaders Manchester City and remain in the race for the title at this early stage.
Hazard alluded to Chelsea’s goals to win silverware this season but appeared to acknowledge that the main target has to be ensuring their return to the Champions League ahead of next term.
Stay in the top four, win the league of course but we know it’s going to be difficult because three or four teams can win. Be back in the Champions League next year and try to win a cup or Europa League. It’s going to be good.
The Blues endured a disappointing campaign last time out and failed to qualify for the Champions League under Antonio Conte.
However, with a new era already well underway with Maurizio Sarri at the helm, Hazard and his men are in a determined mood and will be keen to place themselves back among the best sides in Europe.
