Nicolas Tie named in Ivory Coast squad

Chelsea youngster Nicolas Tie has been included in the Ivory Coast’s senior squad for the first time.

BBC Sport report that the 17-year-old has been named in the squad for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Central African Republic.

Tie’s call-up comes just a day after Mason Mount was named in the England senior squad for the first time, in what will undoubtedly be a very proud week for those behind the scenes at Chelsea.

He will now be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Eric Bailly and Fulham’s Jean Michael Seri.

The Ivory Coast will be keen to tie him down as soon as possible, with Tie also eligible to play for France.

The goalkeeper is yet to make a senior appearance for Chelsea but has been impressing at youth level and will certainly be a name to look out for in years to come.
