Alessio Romagnoli emerges as United transfer target

AC Milan defender and reported Chelsea target Alessio Romagnoli is one of two defenders that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants to sign in January.

According to ESPN
, Mourinho has shortlisted both Romagnoli and Inter’s Milan Skriniar, with the United manager looking to raid his former side to sign the impressive Slovakian.

Romagnoli is reportedly also on Maurizio Sarri’s radar for the January window, with the Chelsea boss still keen to strengthen defensively.

The Milan defender joins summer target Daniele Rugani on the Italian’s wishlist, with concerns over the long-term futures of both David Luiz and Gary Cahill.

Both United and Chelsea have struggled defensively this season, but Mourinho is keen to spend big in the new year amid concerns over his position at Old Trafford.

Romagnoli has been impressive for the San Siro outfit in recent years and has cemented himself as one of Italy’s most promising defenders.
