Chelsea youngster Nicolas Tié is reportedly eyeing a place in a future France squad after failing to show up to the Ivory Coast squad during the most recent international break.
According to reports in the Ivory Coast as cited on Sport Witness, Tie may have had his head turned by the French federation, with the young goalkeeper eligible ot play for both the Ivory Coast and France.
Tie found himself in the headlines recently when he was called up to the Ivory Coast’s senior squad for upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Central African Republic.
However, he failed to show when the squad met in preparation for the game.
There had been some suggestions that Chelsea had blocked the player from joining up with the squad, but that there could be more to the story.
The player took to social media to explain that an injury would keep him out of the game, but many believe that the situation runs deeper.
