Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was reportedly in attendance to watch Chelsea target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in action.
According to reports from the Daily Star, the United boss was present to see the Chelsea, Juventus and United target feature for Serbia against Montenegro in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday night.
He came off the bench for the last 10 minutes, so if Mourinho was there to see him specifically, he may have been left disappointed.
I’m a Lazio player. But obviously I was pleased that a coach of his calibre came to see the game.
If he gave the impression of disagreeing with the starting line-up, it may not be because of me. Maybe he wasn’t here for me but for someone else. I read a bit from everywhere that he came here to watch me play, but that doesn’t mean anything.
The Serbian midfielder was heavily linked with a move away from Lazio during the summer but has remained at the club.
Milinkovic-Savic cemented himself as one of the most in-demand players over the summer after a standout season in Serie A last time around.
He recently put pen to paper on a new deal with the Italian outfit, but that has not slowed down any rumours about his future and a possible move away.
