Chelsea ready to let Cahill leave in January

Chelsea are reportedly ready to let defender Gary Cahill leave the club in the January window, with Aston Villa and West Ham interested.

According to a report from the Mirror, as cited on Calciomercato, Chelsea will let the player leave to find regular game time with no new contract in the offing.

West Ham and Galatasaray have both been linked with a move to the former Bolton man in recent weeks.

Cahill has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge this summer, finding game time hard to come by as Maurizio Sarri prefers a defensive duo of Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz.

The defender is out of contract in the summer but could now leave in January.

Despite captaining the club last season, the Blues are unlikely to offer the player a new deal and could decide to cash in during the upcoming transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing.
