Mata discusses Chelsea’s strong start to the season
Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has hailed Chelsea’s start to the season, highlighting Maurizio Sarri’s style as a key reason behind their success.
The former Blue spoke to United’s official club website ahead of the team’s trip to Stamford Bridge this weekend and was quick to lavish praise on his previous side.
Mata has played a bit-part role for Manchester United this season but will be desperately hoping to get the nod from Jose Mourinho against Chelsea.
The experienced Spaniard discussed the influence of new Chelsea boss Sarri and alluded to the acquisition of Jorginho from Napoli in the summer as a fundamental reason behind their new style of play.
They have a new manager and they play with more or less the same players but in a certain style.
They have players like Hazard, Willian, Pedro and Cesc Fabregas. They signed Jorginho who fits perfectly with Sarri’s style, so I’m not surprised with the way they are playing, because I think they have the players to play like that.
Chelsea have not yet lost a single Premier League game this season and are in a rich vein of form. They head into their fixture against the Red Devils on the back of a 3-0 win against Southampton prior to the international break.
United, meanwhile, have endured a tricky start to the campaign and find themselves in 8th place.
